First Name
I actually don’t have much time, so I’ll just go to the point of this post, which is about my first name; Maleakhi.
Some kinda religious people may recognize my name as the title of the last book of Christian Bible’s Old Testament (first half of the Bible) in Bahasa Indonesia and some people may go more specifically by recognizing it as the name of the author of the book. They guess correct. I was named after the writer of the last book of the Old Testament for a reason; I was born right after my mother finished reading the Book of Malachi even though her doctor said so many times that the time hadn’t arrived. I was finally born at May 17th ’93 at 8.35 PM (IIRC). Because my mother has a strong intuition, she remembered this and named me, “Maleakhi”.
As I’ve told you before, my name is the Bahasa Indonesia translation of the English “Malachi”, which in Hebrew was written “מַלְאָכִי” (pronounced: /male̞ɔkii/; alefbet and niqqud used [right to left]: Mem+Patach, Lamed+Shva, Komets Alef, Kaf+Hiriq, Yud) and means “My messenger” or – still in discussion – “messenger of YHWH”. Here, I’ll be underlining the word “messenger” which triggered my imagination to speculate whether God had planned and set my life on the path I’ll start walking on for the next three-four years. Let’s find out~!
